is that the English instruction received
in our school is reinforced by the
English immersion environment
in which the student lives.

 

How to Apply

The program is open to applicants from any country interested in studying at the Grade 4 to Grade 12 levels. Students are required to submit the following in order to apply:

  • A completed application form submitted with a non-refundable $250 administration fee
  • Original or certified true copies of transcripts from the current and previous two years of study
  • Proof of age
  • Two recent photographs
  • Homestay form, if applicable
  • Any available English test result
  • Immunization Record

Student Requirements

  • Must be competent to achieve at a high school level in academic studies at the final two years of secondary school.
  • Must be able to function in a cultural environment without the direct supervision of parents
  • Must receive a Student Authorization from the Canadian government
  • Must pay the transportation to and from Canada Homestay Program

Mission school District arranges homestays in private Mission homes that have been carefully screened and are monitored. Students will be provided with secure, comfortable and welcoming accommodation while studying in Mission.

Acceptance

Final acceptance and placement will be determined only after receipt of the completed Application Form and all the required documents. Students will be required to pay their tuition fee before a letter will be issued for Canadian Immigration Student Authorization purposes.

Tuition Fee

The tuition fee is established annually and is currently $11,000.00 Canadian / year.

Payments are to be made by Bank Draft or Certified Cheque or Bank Wire Transfer.

Refund Policy

  • Full refund less application fee ($250) if student authorization is not approved by Canadian Immigration (letter of rejection from High Commission must be included).
  • Two thirds of the full tuition fee if the student withdraws prior to September 1st/February 28th.
  • One half of full tuition fee if the student withdraws prior to September 30th/February 28th.
  • No refund will be provided if the student withdraws after September 30th/February 28th.
  • If a student is dismissed from the Mission International Student Program, the student is sent home at the parents' expense, without a refund.

Additional Costs

International students, like all students, will be required to pay minimal costs for such things as school supplies, team or band travel, and special event costs as they occur. International students are required to purchase medical insurance through the school district. The annual fee for this coverage is $800.
